John was actively involved in at the time of his
death in November, 2000. Many of the name change
resources and materials found on this website and
also in the "Continuing the Conversation " packet
were funded by this memorial tribute to John.

Blocher Smeltzer
Scholarship
In March 1978, the
Womaen's Caucus Steering Committee created a
scholarship to further the leadership development
of women in the Church of the Brethren. The
scholarship honors Mary Blocher Smeltzer, one of
the founders of Womaen's Caucus, and supports
women's participation in workshops, training
events, seminars, conferences, retreats, short
courses, etc.

At the 2007 Annual
Conference, we launched our brand-spanking new
pilot curriculum for discussion groups. We hope to
provide resources and an international network of
contemporary consciousness-raising groups, each of
which is co-creating the feminist movement of
today!
